For those who want to see the mountains Rindal is a fine starting point to Trollheimen. Trollheimen is known for its untouched wild scenery.

Lying
100 km southwest of Trondheim is the agricultural and forestry
community of Rindal. The 2000 some inhabitants have 640 km^2 of
magnificent forests and mountain scenery at their disposal. Trollheimen
with all its lakes and untouched scenery is the home of wolverines,
reindeers and moose. Up here their are mated trails leading to popular
cabins inviting mountain wanderers to stay overnight. Rindal itself is
known as a skiing centre with top skiers and lots of sport in
asnow-filled winter landscape. In the summer there are popular museums,
exiting places for tourists in the local style with traditional food
and quite exceptional possibilities for hiking to tempt the tourist.
Rindal is also the only community in Møre and Romsdal that does not
border on the sea.
