Petition on Human Rights: Access to public documents missing in Germany

The Committee on petitions of the European Parliament doe not support an "area of freedom, security and justice" with a "guarantee for the principles of democracy and respect for human rights", according to Com 2002/0247 which EU is building up with the help of the Fundamental Rights Agency (COM(2005)280)

Subject: Petition on Human Rights KLC/ea[02-COM.PETI(2006)D/173]

I refer to your letter of 16. January 2006, that EU/OSCE human right principles are not yet covered by EU legislation. Therefore petition 80/2002 i not reopened.

Obviously Petition 80/2002 is about Freedom of information, but the petition of 10. December 2005 on human rights violation see Article 6 (1) of THE TREATY ON EUROPEAN UNION:

"The Union is founded on the principles of liberty, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the rule of law, principles which are common to the Member States."

I look forward to admitting the petition of 10. December 2005 on human right so the Committee of petition does not remain a complete failure and total useless when it come to human rights covered by the TREATY ON EUROPEAN UNION.

Answer: 22. Feb. 2006: "The European Parliament (has no) authority to interfere with national legislation of member States". "You may lodge an application with the European Court of Human Rights".
